Well, Giants fans, this season is officially over and the guessing game about what happens in the offseason can begin.
Logan Webb was outstanding over 5 1/3 innings and Willy Adames became the first Giants player to hit 30 home runs in a single season since the legendary Barry Bonds in 2004. It all led to a 4-0 victory at Oracle Park over the hapless Colorado Rockies.
San Francisco swept their final three-game series of the 2025 MLB season to end up right at .500 with an 81-81 record. What about the Rockies? They've been putrid all season long and finished with a 43-119 record.
Rafael Devers hit his 35th homer in a season that saw him start with the Boston Red Sox and be under the gun for not wanting to play out of position. For Devers, it was his 20th home run in the National League this season.
Webb finished in the No. 1 spot for innings pitched (207) and strikeouts (224) in the NL.
While this season didn't end with a postseason run, the Giants were in the hunt for a period of time. That might be small consolation, though for the squad.
Despite the .500 mark, there have been some thoughts floating around about the future of Giants manager Bob Melvin. Would the Giants management bring him back for another season?
This and many other items will be worth watching in the days and weeks after the season is now over.
