If any team in MLB needed a big offensive lift on Saturday, then it was the San Francisco Giants.

Harrison Bader connected for a grand slam and the Giants rolled their way to a 10-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Oracle Park in San Francisco.

Bader's grand slam came in a big six-run fifth inning on the heels of the White Sox tying the game at 3-3 with three runs in their half of the fifth. Bader now has five home runs this season. Casey Schmitt, though, clobbered a two-run homer ahead of Bader's shot, breaking that 3-3 deadlock. It was Schmitt's 10th home run this season.

Adrian Houser got the start for Giants manager Tony Vitello on Saturday. Houser went 4 2/3 innings, giving up seven hits and three earned runs. Houser also struck out five and didn't walk a batter. Giants reliever Matt Gage worked 1 1/3 innings after Houser left and picked up the win, going to 4-1 this season.

Gage only gave up one hit, but struck out four and now owns a sparkling 1.74 ERA.

Bryan Hudson opened the game for the White Sox on the mound, but he was taken out after 1 1/3 innings of work. Erick Fedde followed Hudson and, well, he just didn't look good for Chicago at all. 

Fedde worked 3 1/3 innings and gave up 10 hits and eight earned runs. Fedde falls to 0-5 this season. He also walked two and struck out three in his time on the mound.

The Giants put up three runs in the bottom half of the fourth inning. Schmitt's sacrifice fly scored Luis Arraez and San Francisco was up 1-0. Daniel Susac followed with a two-run single, bringing home Matt Chapman and Rafael Devers. San Francisco took a 3-0 lead into the fifth inning.

But the White Sox didn't go quietly. In the top of the fifth. Drew Romo's RBI single put Chicago within 3-1, then Sam Antonacci grounded into an RBI force out. That put the White Sox down 3-2 at that point. Miguel Vargas doubled to center, bringing home Antonacci and that tied things up at 3-3.

Then, the Giants went to work in front of a rowdy crowd at Oracle Park.

Schmitt's and Bader's home runs gave San Francisco a 9-3 lead. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Willy Adames hit his sixth home run this season, a solo blast, and the Giants had their 10-3 final score.

The Giants are now 21-31 in the National League West Division, while the White Sox fall to 26-25 in the American League Central Division.

These teams will finish up their three-game weekend series with a Sunday afternoon matchup at Oracle Park next to San Francisco Bay.
