The slugger snapped a four-game skid with his second bases-loaded blast this month, joining Buster Posey in a rare statistical feat that keeps San Francisco’s postseason hopes alive.
San Francisco Giants center fielder Harrison Bader made franchise history when the team snapped their four-game losing streak against the Chicago White Sox.
Bader's second grand slam this calendar month highlighted the team's 10-3 win, one that was their first since May 17.
He may only be hitting .178, but Bader now has five home runs on the year and it just so happens that two of those are grand slams.
Coincidentally, the last time Bader hit a grand slam was in the team's 10-1 victory over the Athletics on May 17.
Bader Becomes 11th Giant With Two Grand Slams in a Calendar Month
Going back to 2015, only two Giants have hit not one, but two grand slams in a single month. Buster Posey was the last to do so in 2015; that was until Casey Schmitt did so in 2025.
Now, the Giants have had players do so in back-to-back seasons, which is quite crazy knowing only nine players had done so from the team's inception up until 2015.
Regardless, Bader's grand slam came in a six-run fifth inning for the Giants. After the team plated three runs in the fourth, Chicago answered with three of their own in the top of the fifth. Thankfully, a big bottom half was more than enough for San Francisco to get back into the win column.
It wasn't an incredible start for Adrian Hauser, but the 33-year-old joked, "We're winning games when he [Bader] hits grand slams. We might have to put in a call for a grand slam every week, so we'll see what happens."
Bader Discusses Team's Much-Needed Win
"I've been on less talented teams before, and this is certainly a very talented team,” he said. "I know what a version of baseball looks like that is not as talented as a lot of these guys. So we certainly have the talent to do it, it’s just a matter of executing."
Bader said he thinks "erring on the side of positivity, erring on the side of getting your work in regardless of the noise and trusting yourself" are the biggest things this team needs to do on a daily basis.
He acknowledged that will look different for everyone. But he believes they "certainly have the pieces for it," and will take that win on Saturday into Sunday's series finale, one that could see the Giants salvage two of their last three series.
