All but one of the Mariners top 100 prospects jumped in the latest rankings from the publication
The Seattle Mariners farm system is one of the most well-regarded in all of baseball. And so far this season, the organization's most highly-touted prospects have done nothing to dissuade that belief.
The Mariners entered the season with six top 100 prospects, per MLB Pipeline.
MLB Pipeline released its updated top 100 Wednesday and, once again, Seattle had six players featured on the list.
Five of Seattle's six top 100 prospects rose on the list. Here's an overview of the Mariners prospects and the list and several takeaways from the updated rankings:
Prospects on top 100
- Colt Emerson, shortstop, No. 6 (previously No. 7)
- Kade Anderson, left-handed pitcher, No. 7 (previously No. 14)
- Ryan Sloan, right-handed pitcher, No. 22 (previously No. 25)
- Lazaro Montes, outfielder, No. 30 (previously No. 34)
- Michael Arroyo, utility, No. 48 (previously No. 55)
- Jonny Farmelo, outfielder, No. 74 (previously No. 65)
Arroyo, Anderson take huge jumps
Kade Anderson, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, has been arguably the best starting at the Double-A level this season, which is also his first as a professional ball player.
Through six starts this year, Anderson has posted a 0.60 ERA and has struck out 47 hitters in 30 innings pitched. He's allowed just one home run, which came in his latest start.
Anderson was already considered one of the best left-handed pitching prospects in baseball before the season began, but the publication has now officially bestowed him as the best southpaw prospect.
Arroyo, like Anderson, also jumped seven spots in the latest rankings.
Arroyo has been arguably the most overlooked hitter in Seattle's minor league ranks over the last several seasons. He started out this season off slow, but has started to hit his stride.
Entering Wednesday, Arroyo had a slash line of .254/.327/.385 with a .712 OPS in 33 games and has hit five doubles and four home runs with 18 RBIs. He's slashing .326/.362/.419 in May.
On top of his increase in production at the plate, Arroyo has also shown out in a new defensive role.
The Mariners made the decision to give Arroyo extended looks at left field in addition to his typical duties at second base. He's played 17 games at second this year and 14 in left and has looked solid defensively in the outfield.
Colt Emerson maintains top 10 status
It seems like a matter if "when" rather than "if" Colt Emerson will make his major league debut this season.
The former first round pick got an extended look at third base during spring training and had an opportunity to break camp with the M's.
Emerson was unable to do so but still signed an eight-year, $95 million contract that will keep him on the team through at least 2033.

Entering Wednesday, Emerson had slashed .252/.340/.458 with a .798 OPS and had hit seven doubles, a triple and six homers with 21 RBIs in 34 games. He also had nine steals in 12 opportunities.
Jonny Farmelo takes tumble in latest rankings
The only Seattle prospect included in the top 100 that didn't raise his stock in the latest rankings was outfielder Jonny Farmelo. He fell nine spots from 65 in the previous rankings to 74 in the latest list.
Farmelo was limited to just 75 games over the last two years with the Single-A Modesto Nuts and High-A Everett AquaSox due to a torn ACL and stress reaction in his rib, respectively.
Farmelo has been fully healthy this season with Everett and has already exceeded the amount of games he played last year but has started slow. Entering Wednesday, he had a slash line of .223/.362/.388 with a .750 OPS in 31 games and had hit seven doubles, two triples and three home runs with 12 RBIs.
