Seattle Mariners Announce 2026 Broadcast Crew cover image

The Mariners' first year on MLB will be headed by familiar broadcasters

The Seattle Mariners will enter 2026 with more expectations than in the last two-and-a-half decades of the franchise's history.

The Mariners advanced to Game 7 of the American League Championship Series and lost by one run to the Toronto Blue Jays. It was the first time Seattle was one win away from an American League pennant.

There's a lot of pressure on the M's to exceed that and make the final push to the World Series in '26. And there will be a familiar crew in a new environment calling the games for the team.

Seattle announced its broadcast team for '26, which will be the team's first season with video broadcasts being handled by MLB after ROOT Sports shuttered its doors at the conclusion of last season.

According to a post on "X" from Mariners PR, Rick Rizzs will be the lead radio commentator and Aaron Goldsmith will lead the television broadcast. Gary Hill Jr. will join Rizzs on the radio and rotating in as analysts will be Angie Mentink and Ryan Rowland-Smith.

Contributing analysts include Dave Valle and Jay Buhner and Brad Adam will host pre- and post-game broadcasts.

The news of the new broadcast team came with the news that this upcoming year will be Rizzs' last in the broadcast booth.

Rizzs has called Seattle games for the better part of four decades. He was hired in 1983 and was in the booth until 1991. He briefly worked in the Detroit Tigers' booth from 1992-94 before returning the Pacific Northwest in '95, where he's worked since.

Mentink will enter her second full season as an analyst and Goldsmith will enter his 14th year in the broadcast booth.

Buhner joined the broadcast booth for games against the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros in his home state in '25 and will be back in the booth for "select broadcasts" in '26, according to a news release from the Mariners.

Rowland-Smith has been a part of Seattle pre- and post-game shows since 2017, Valle has been a part of radio broadcasts for the Mariners since 1997, with a three-season intermission from 2022-24 covering the Rangers, and Hill will enter his ninth year with M's radio.

Adam has spent the last 26 seasons covering Seattle for root sports.

Radio broadcasts will still be handled by Seattle Sports 710, whereas MLB will handle the television broadcasts outside of nationally-broadcast games.

More details on the Mariners' broadcast options and telecasts with MLB will be revealed at a later date.
