Julio Rodriguez was recognized as a top 20 player in the sport by MLB Network.

The Seattle Mariners boasted several of the best players in the major leagues at their respective positions in 2025.

Outfielders Randy Arozarena and Julio Rodriguez, catcher Cal Raleigh, starting pitcher Bryan Woo and closer Andres Munoz were all recognized with All-Star selections, and four of those five players, with the exception of Woo, have either been confirmed or rumored to compete for their respective countries in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

Several of those players have also received more recognition in the last week.

Entering Jan. 21, three Mariners were featured on MLB's 'Top 100 Players Right Now' list.

Right-handed starting pitcher Logan Gilbert was ranked 72nd on the list and first baseman Josh Naylor was ranked 70th. Right-handed pitcher Bryan Woo was also featured on the list and placed 42nd.

On Jan. 21 center fielder Julio Rodriguez was revealed as being ranked the 16th-best player in baseball by MLB Network.

Rodriguez is coming off his fourth season in the majors and reaffirmed his status in the eyes as many as the best center fielder in baseball.

Rodriguez's All-Star selection was the third of his major league career. He slashed .267/.324/.474 with a .798 OPS and hit 31 doubles, four triples and 32 home runs with 95 RBIs in 160 games. He led the major leagues in at-bats this last seaosn at 652.

Rodriguez was third in the American League in runs (106) behind his teammate, Raleigh (111) and AL MVP Aaron Judge (137).

On top of his offensive acumen, Rodriguez's defensive efforts were also highly ranked. He had 11 outs above average, which ranked in the 97th percentile of baseball according to Baseball Savant. He also had nine defensive runs saved, which was tied for seventh in the major leagues among centerfielders and fourth in the American League.

Since Rodriguez made his major league debut in 2022, the Mariners have enjoyed more postseason success than they had in the two decades prior. In Rodriguez's rookie season in 2022, the team broke its then-21-year playoff drought. This past season, Seattle advanced to Game 7 of the American League Championship Series. It was the first time since the organization was established in 1977 that the team was one win away from the World Series.

Rodriguez will look to continue his great 2025 with an even better 2026 as the Mariners look to make - and win - their first-ever World Series.
