Ahead of the third game of a four-game series with the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, the Seattle Mariners made five notable roster moves, but there was also one big one that they didn't make.

As noted by the team on social media, the M's brought back Miles Mastrobuoni from the 60-day injured list and activated him to the major league roster. In a corresponding move, Ryan Bliss, who played a big part in the victories on Monday and Tuesday, was sent to Triple-A.

Furthermore, the team brought back right-handed pitcher Domingo Gonzalez, placing Matt Brash on the injured list with a lat strain. He's the second reliever to be put on the injured list in as many days - joining Cooper Criswell.

Finally, Yosver Zulueta was designated for assignment. Colt Emerson, who has been out with back spasms, is not in the lineup on Wednesday but will be able to avoid the injured list.

1) Seeing Mastrobuoni get the call is not necessarily surprising, as he is a solid do-everything player. Furthermore, he is out of options and the M's had to make a decision on him. He's missed the entire season with a calf issue sustained in the World Baseball Classic. He hit .178 in 45 at-bats at Triple-A this season.

He figures to see time at second base, shortstop and third base, at least until Emerson is ready to play, probably on Thursday, and until JP Crawford is back from the injured list. Crawford is eligible to return from the injured list on Tuesday.

2) While there had been no indication that Brash was hurt, this is not necessarily surprising either. He was already on the injured list for the same issue this season, and his command look very off in a disappointing performance in Monday's win. While he's known to have bouts of control issues, the injury more easily explains it.

3) The Mariners bullpen is currently operating at a deficit because of the team's 6-man rotation. Gonzalez will give the team another healthy arm heading into the final five games of the road trip. Gonzalez was with the M's already this season, pitching to a 0.00 ERA in 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

The Mariners and Orioles will play on Wednesday at 3:35 p.m. PT. George Kirby will take the mound while Brandon Young goes for Baltimore.
