Kade Anderson and Mason Peters have made Friday night in the minor leagues very fun for M's fans.
The Seattle Mariners dropped a tough 7-3 contest against the Detroit Tigers on Friday night at the major league level, but the news was much better at the minor league level, where a pair of left-handed pitching prospects continued their dominance on the mound.
Pitching at Double-A Arkansas, Kade Anderson was brilliant again. He went five innings, giving up just one hit and no runs. He walked none and struck out nine. He hasn't allowed a run in 15 straight innings and has a season ERA of 1.29.
He was just ranked as the No. 9 prospect in baseball in Baseball America's June update.
And don't forget about Mason Peters, who pitches each Friday night at Single-A Inland Empire. He also went five innings, giving up just one run on four hits. He walked none and struck out six. Through 10 starts, his ERA is 1.59.
How about the duo combined?
As noted by @MiLBMariners on social media, Anderson and Peters are a combined 6-0 with a 1.43 ERA in 20 games. Together, they've thrown 88.2 innings and have struck out 133.
About Kade Anderson
The No. 3 pick in the MLB Draft (2025), Anderson was the Most Outstanding Player of the College World Series in 2025 at LSU. Helping lead the Tigers to the national title, he was the most major league ready pitcher in the draft and he's showing it so far this season.
Pitching with a confidence and polish, Anderson is showing that he might be an option for the Mariners later this season as they chase their second consecutive American League West crown.
He also is a virtually guaranteed selection for the Futures Game during All-Star week.

Drafted in the fourth round (2025) out of Dallas Baptist, Peters is showing off his mid-90s fastball and his devastating curveball for the 66ers. Though he's not as close to the big leagues as Anderson, he's showing that the prospect cupboard is not bare following Anderson and Ryan Sloan.
If he stays in the rotation, he could be an answer for the organization if Luis Castillo, George Kirby and Logan Gilbert are no longer with the M's in the coming season.
Castillo might be a free agent after the 2027 season, depending on a vesting option, while Gilbert is a free agent after 2027. Kirby is a free agent after 2028.
If Peters ends up as a bullpen arm in the future, he could be a weapon on that front.
