SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners came back home after a 10-game road trip with a series of day-to-day and lengthier injuries preventing the team from hitting the field at full strength.

The day-to-day ailments have persisted through the first two of a six-game homestand, with outfielder Randy Arozarena being placed on the 10-day injured list due to a hamstring strain, outfielder Luke Raley missing the first two games against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday and Wednesday with back tightness and first baseman Josh Naylor missing the first two contests with a sore wrist.

Seattle's injury troubles grew worse in a 5-3 loss against the Orioles on Wednesday. In the sixth inning, star center fielder Julio Rodriguez exited the game due to hamstring spasms after making a leaping catch.

Rodriguez is still day-to-day with the injury and was absent from the lineup for the series finale against Baltimore on Thursday.

"We're getting closer (to getting healthy) every day," Wilson said in a pregame interview Thursday. "And Julio, just getting a chance to get a day today to make sure we're all set with his legs. I think that's a smart thing to do. ... It's just day-to-day. Hopefully, tomorrow he's in a different spot. It's always tricky with a quick turnaround (from a night game to a day game). So chance today to kind of sit back and give that a little bit of rest and hopefully back tomorrow." 

Rodriguez is slashing .249/.310/.429 with a .739 OPS in 75 games this season. He's hit 15 doubles and 13 home runs with 35 RBIs. He hit a double and scored a run in the Mariners' loss against the Orioles on Wednesday before his exit.

-- Naylor was back in the lineup after missing the first two games of the series against Baltimore. He'll bat third in the order and play his typical start at first base.

-- Raley was out for a third-straight game due to his back, but is also dealing with the flu, per Wilson.

"It's been kind of a tough couple days for (Raley)," Wilson said. "But expect him, probably, back here tomorrow and back at it."

-- When Arozarena was placed on the IL, Seattle general manager Justin Hollander stated that he expected the All-Star candidate's stint on the shelf to be the minimum.

Arozarena was out for pregame work Thursday taking ground balls in the out field and running with first base coach Eric Young Jr.

"Just watching him here briefly, he's kind of going through the paces a little bit in (left field) and getting some running in, as well," Wilson said. "Looks like he's on track and the word we're getting from the training room is he's meeting all the standards that they were hoping for. We're continuing to home that it's a minimum stay (on the IL) and it's starting to look that way."
