The San Francisco Giants are just one of a handful of sellers at the looming trade deadline.

According to a recent report from Susan Slusser, the Seattle Mariners were in attendance scouting a handful of San Francisco Giants players on Monday night.
The Mariners just got a look at the Giants in person as well, as Seattle took two-of-three from San Francisco at T-Mobile Park over the weekend.
While Slusser doesn't explicitly say who the Mariners were looking at, it can be assumed that they are looking at infielder Casey Schmitt and outfielder Heliot Ramos, who Slusser says are generating interesting.
Let's dive a little deeper and take a look at the situations for both players.
Heliot Ramos
Age: 26
Position: OF
Major League debut: 2022
2026 stats: .276 average in 62 games with nine homers, 30 RBIs and a 118 OPS+
2026 splits: Hitting .265 vs. right-handed pitching, .315 vs. left-handed pitching
Contract: Under team control through 2029
Of note: As indicated by MLBTradeRumors, Ramos is a very poorly graded defender in both center and left field, but he's been above average in right. He would help the Mariners against left-handed pitching this season and beyond, as Victor Robles and Randy Arozarena are free agents after the season.
We spoke to ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney on the 'Refuse to Lose Territory' podcast recently, and he mentioned Ramos as a trade possibility for the M's. (July 9)
"I think another guy, and this one I find to be more likely in terms of a potential fit, is Heliot Ramos of the San Francisco Giants. He's a right-handed hitter. He's come off the injured list recently. He's actually performed well.
San Francisco Giants left fielder Heliot Ramos (17) hits a solo home run against the Kansas City Royals in the fourth inning at Kauffman Stadium. Denny Medley-Imagn ImagesEarlier this week, he had the game where he had, what? Two homers and a triple.
I suspect there's going to be some play on Heliot Ramos, but again, we're only talking about that specifically because the Giants are one of the few teams that have actually declared themselves to be sellers.
We're going to hear about more teams being sellers over the next two weeks, but at the moment, it doesn't feel like there are a lot."
Casey Schmitt
Age: 27
Position: 23 games at DH, 18 at 3B, 15 at 1B, seven at 2B, seven at SS
Major League debut: 2023
2026 stats: .275 average in 92 games with 19 homers, 50 RBI and a 120 OPS+
2026 splits: Hitting .257 vs. righties and .323 vs. lefties
Contract: Under team control through 2029
Of note: Schmitt would also help the M's problems against left-handed pitching, though his presence would clog up an infield that already features Colt Emerson, Cole Young, JP Crawford and Josh Naylor.
Could the M's send down Emerson to make room for him? Could they let Crawford walk in free agency after the season to help accommodate him moving forward? Those remain to be seen.
Potential cost
It all depends on how many other suitors there are and how the bidding war takes shape. Of course, the Mariners have highly-regarded prospects like Felnin Celesten, Lazaro Montes and Michael Arroyo that they could dangle, or could they trade from their major league roster, where Luis Castillo and Luke Raley face some potentially difficult situations moving forward?
