It was a historic night for Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, who threw one of the most impressive complete games seen in the recent past.
The MLB’s strikeout leader (131) achieved a rare feat throwing a complete game shutout that included a record 15 strikeouts on just 95 pitches thrown. A level of efficiency that continues to make the Milwaukee arm a one-of-a-kind player to witness.

Previously, the most strikeouts secured in a shutout game of fewer than 100 pitches thrown through nine innings was 13 by Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal.
Misiorowski passed him with a 74-strike masterpiece Friday night against the Philadelphia Phillies while allowing just one hit.
The Brewers pitcher has seen a steep rise in odds for taking the National League (NL) Cy Young award, now favored heavily over the Phillies’ own Christopher Sanchez with a gulf between them and the next likely player, Pittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenes.
Meanwhile, the Brewers continue to dominate the NL Central division with a 42-25 record. The club currently holds a five-game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals for the top spot in the division.
Milwaukee is among five 40-plus win teams now across the league, joined by the 45-24 Atlanta Braves, the 44–26 Los Angeles Dodgers, the 41-27 New York Yankees and the 40-26 Tampa Bay Rays.
Though Misiorowski is done for the weekend after throwing all nine innings Friday night, the Brewers are set to continue their series against the Phillies through the weekend. This is a favorable matchup for them to continue to hold on to their top billing.
