Wyatt Langford's hamstring injury arrived as Corey Seager returned from a concussion IL stint, dealing another blow to Texas' efforts to get healthy.

The Texas Rangers have been searching for a bit of a break they just can’t get.

Rangers’ outfielder Wyatt Langford was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a left hamstring strain. In a corresponding move, Texas activated Evan Carter from the IL.

It comes one day after he was a late scratch in the team’s 7-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Langford is expected to miss time through the MLB All-Star break, a bit of frustrating news for the club.

He felt tightness in the hamstring during Friday night’s win over Toronto but played through it. when he returned Saturday, he felt the hamstring too much and the tightness forced the IL move.

It’s more irritating that it came on an all-out effort play, as manager Skip Schumaker noted, and it’s a bummer to see those efforts end in injury and mark Langford’s six IL stint in just over two MLB seasons, a bit of a troubling pattern for a young piece of their core.

Langford had missed 39 games earlier this year through April and June due to a left forearm strain, and three games in early April with a mild quad strain.

He dealt with three oblique strains last season and a hamstring issue in his rookie year.

To add insult to injury, it comes just as star shortstop Corey Seager returned from IL due to a concussion, preventing the full lineup for the Rangers in a critical stretch of the season.
