Phillies to Extend Manager Rob Thomson

With four straight playoff appearance under his belt, the Philadelphia Phillies are set to extend manager Rob Thomson. After a second straight divisonal-round exit, the Phillies are going to stay the course and keep manager Rob Thomson at the helm of their program. Thomson holds a .580 win percentage as Philadelphia's head man with a 346-251 career record. He's made the postseason in all four of his seasons at the helm, including the franchise's first World Series appearance since 2009 in 2022.  Some many criticize this choice based on the facts that he hasn't seen much success in the playoffs since 2022, and is criticized often for his questionable in-game decisions, but Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski and Owner John Middleton seem to like having Thomson at the helm and trust that he can keep Philadelphia's championship window open just a little longer.
