Phillies Silence Bryce Harper Trade Rumors
Not that they were very well-founded, but Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski spoke on his comments about first baseman Bryce Harper during the most recent press conference and the resulting trade rumors. Rumors that Harper was being marketed, even though they were far-reaching before, are now being drowned out.

Phillies' Top Hitters Earn End-of-Season Accolades
Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber and shortstop Trea Turner made the final list for the Silver Slugger award, which is given to the best hitter at each position from the most recent season. With Schwarber's dominant 56-home-run season and Turner's National League batting title via a .304 average, it's no surprise two of Philly's top names were named as finalists.

At Least One Phillie Will Get a Ring This Year...
Well, a former Phillie that is... Buddy Kennedy is guaranteed to get a World Series ring this year, as he played for both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays over the course of this season. Nice to see Kennedy get a ring, but still upsetting it didn't come via a Phillies World Series win...

Phillies to Hold Pitching Tryout in Japan
The Philadelphia Phillies are heading across the Pacific to scout out some top pitching talent in Japan. This is the third straight year the Phillies have been active in the Japanese player market, looking to find a more successful solution than their first attempt with Aoyagi Koyo, who the Phillies signed from the NPB before being released during the season.

Phillies Expected to Move On from Nick Castellanos
It's not exactly surprising to hear that the Philadelphia Phillies are expected to either release or trade right fielder Nick Castellanos this offseason. Castellanos' relationship with the club took an obvious and public turn for the worst late in the season, causing him to lose his spot in the starting lineup and come off the bench for much of September and the entire postseason.

Who Do You Think the Phillies Should Resign?
The conclusion of the 2025 MLB season is upon us, which means the free agency bonanza is just around the corner. The Phillies have a few key players that are up for free agency, and Spotrac, a site that predicts a player's contract value by using comparing a player's current salary to cumulative production. For some of their predictions, well..., it's a bit mindboggling.

Phillies Pitching Receives Praise From Opposing Executive
Even though the Philadelphia Phillies lost its National League Division Series matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the pitching staff kept star slugger Shohei Ohtani quiet throughout the entire series. Even Dodgers' President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman chimed in on the matter.

Phillies Eyeing International Pitching Prospect
With the international signing period set to open on Jan. 15, the Philadelphia Phillies are already putting together a potential list of prospects they're looking to sign when the period opens, including Venezuelan Jose Romero. With fellow Venezuela native Ranger Suarez's return to Philadelphia uncertain given he's reached the end of his contract, adding more prospects to bulk up a pitching staff that already rivals any other staff in the league is a good sign at the start of the offseason.

Should the Phillies extend Kevin Long?
Since Kevin Long was hired as the Philadelphia Phillies' hitting coach in 2022, inconsistent offense has been the fans' number one criticism, and rightfully so, as it's cost them multiple World Series opportunities. Now that his contract is up, does it make sense to extend Long with the current state of the offense despite its abundance of star power? According to the tweet, more information will be available on Thursday, Oct. 16.

The Phillies' Game 4 Loss Still Stings
It's been five days since the Philadelphia Phillies were eliminated from the 2025 postseason, and I still can't get the last play of the game out of my head. I know it's the fourth year in a row facing this kind of disappointment, but the fact that it's the fourth time makes it even more frustrating.

Max Kepler Wants to Stay in Philadelphia
After a rough debut season, Max Kepler wants to continue his career in Philadelphia. Kepler posted one of the worst seasons at the plate in his career in 2025, and if the Phillies need one thing, it's more consistency on offense, so bringing him back doesn't make much sense.

Phillies to Extend Manager Rob Thomson
With four straight playoff appearance under his belt, the Philadelphia Phillies are set to extend manager Rob Thomson. After a second straight divisonal-round exit, the Phillies are going to stay the course and keep manager Rob Thomson at the helm of their program. Thomson holds a .580 win percentage as Philadelphia's head man with a 346-251 career record. He's made the postseason in all four of his seasons at the helm, including the franchise's first World Series appearance since 2009 in 2022. Some many criticize this choice based on the facts that he hasn't seen much success in the playoffs since 2022, and is criticized often for his questionable in-game decisions, but Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski and Owner John Middleton seem to like having Thomson at the helm and trust that he can keep Philadelphia's championship window open just a little longer. Thomson will have a press conference on Thursday, Oct. 16 addressing his extention.
