The Philadelphia Phillies have been linked to a trade for a Los Angeles Dodgers player that won a World Series in LA.

The Philadelphia Phillies need to address their outfield above all else this offseason, and the general consensus is that they will pursue a high-priced free agent like Randy Arozarena or Seiya Suzuki.

But the Phillies need more than just once in their outfield.

Bagging one of Arozarena or Suzuki would obviously be nice, but Philadelphia could also use a platoon partner for Brandon Marsh, who was horrendous down the stretch in 2026.

The Phillies could always explore the trade market to find an answer, and Bleacher Report's Kelly Miller has pitched a new potential target for them: Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Alex Call.

Call labored this season, slashing .233/.349/.307 with one home run and 20 RBI over 195 plate appearances. The 11.8 percent walk rate was nice, but he contributed little else offensively.

With Call now being 32 years old, the Dodgers may look to cash in on what value he has left now, so Philadelphia could take a look at him as a cost-effective option.

Call is under team control through 2029, and last year, he posted a much more respectable .267/.361/.385 slash line with five homers and 31 RBI across 322 trips to the dish between the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles.

The former third-round pick was a part of the Dodgers' World Series championship team in 2025, and he went an impressive 4-for-11 with three walks during the postseason run.

It should also be noted that back in 2024, Call managed .950 OPS in 30 games with the Nationals. It was a small sample size, sure, but it was evidence that he can produce offense on occasion.

Call is also a versatile outfielder capable of playing all three outfield positions, and he has posted nine defensive runs saved and 12 outs above average over the course of five seasons.

As I stated earlier, Call's walk rate is also particularly attractive, as he draws free passes at a career 11.6 percent rate. It should also be noted that he hits lefties to the tune of an .827 OPS, which would make him a fine platoon partner for Marsh.

Call certainly wouldn't be the sexiest addition, but if the Phillies are able to land a big bat like Arozarena or Suzuki, then Call would comprise a very viable option to serve as the team's fourth outfielder.

And given his age, he probably would not cost too much in a trade.
