Ranking Phillies' Luis Arraez Landing Spots Entering Offseason

Should the Phillies try to re-sign Luis Arraez this offseason?

As the Philadelphia Phillies enter the offseason, there are multiple questions for the front office to answer.

One of the bigger ones is what the team will do with infielder Luis Arraez, who will be entering free agency. Philadelphia added Arraez at the trade deadline this year, and he made an immediate impact on the team.

For the year, Arraez hit .310 with six home runs and 64 RBIs, while collecting 185 hits and posting a .764 OPS overall. Arraez looked more like his old self this year, and it should allow him to cash in on the open market.

Additionally, the veteran showed major improvement in his defense, posting 12 Outs Above Average, which ranked in the 97th percentile of the league. Arraez could be a steal for multiple teams this offseason, and the Phillies know his worth very well.

Here are three of the best landing spots for the four-time All-Star entering the upcoming offseason:

1. Philadelphia Phillies

Arraez was huge for the Phillies after the team landed him at the trade deadline, and the team should bring him back. Not only did the veteran provide Philadelphia with a different type of approach at the plate, but he was a vocal leader as well.

The Phillies' offense wasn't the same once he went down with an injury late in the regular season. Overall, Philadelphia should try to bring him back, even if it means spending a little more to make it happen.

2. Boston Red Sox

After coming up short in the playoffs this year, the Red Sox could be looking to add more offense to the roster. Boston needs to bring in a high-average bat for the top of the lineup, and Arraez could fit the bill well.

Playing with the short porch in Fenway Park could help Arraez's numbers jump up even more, and he could provide some spark to this offense. Arraez could be one of the stronger signings that the Red Sox could make to improve the offense this offseason.

3. Texas Rangers

The Rangers missed the playoffs again this past season, marking the third straight year of this happening. Texas needs some sort of sparkplug to come in to help the offense be more consistent, and Arraez would work well.

Arraez provides consistency at the plate, which is something that this Rangers team has been missing since winning the World Series a few years ago. Overall, the Rangers make a lot of sense for the veteran, but whether the front office will spend is the big question.
