Braves Rally As Texas Rangers Bullpen Falters Again

ARLINGTON, Texas — Orlando Arcia's solo home run in the top of the ninth lifted the Atlanta Braves to a 6-5 win over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night at Globe Life Field. 

The Rangers (26-17) lost two of three to the Braves (27-16) despite taking a 5-3 lead after seven innings and getting a quality start out of Nathan Eovaldi, who saw his streak of scoreless innings end in the top of the second at 29 2/3 innings, fifth-most in Rangers history. 

Eovaldi threw seven strong innings and gave up three runs, five hits, striking out five and walking two. 

It also wasted a two-home run night by Adolis García, who hit solo shots in the fourth and fifth innings as the Rangers were rallying from a 2-0 deficit.

The Braves, down 5-3 in the eighth, rallied against Rangers relievers Josh Sborz and Brock Burke, with an RBI single from Ozzie Albies and an RBI double from Austin Riley. 

Then, Acria took Burke (2-2) deep with one out in the ninth inning for the go-ahead run. It was the Braves' third home run of the game. 

Garcia was the only Rangers hitter with multiple hits. Ezequiel Duran and Leody Taveras each drove in a run. 

Corey Seager returned to the lineup after a 31-game absence and went 0-for-3 with an RBI on a sacrifice fly. 

Nick Anderson (2-0) got the win for Atlanta. Raisel Iglesias claimed his second save with a scoreless ninth.

The Rangers have an off-day on Thursday before hosting the Colorado Rockies for three game starting on Friday. Martín Pérez (4-1, 4.25) will start for the Rangers in a game that will begin at 7:05 p.m.
