On the heels of an 8-1 win on Monday, the Texas Rangers are back in action at Globe Life Field, going for a series win against the A's.
After a big 8-1 series-opening win on Monday night, the Texas Rangers are back in action for game two of their series with the Athletics on Tuesday at Globe Life Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with parking lots opening at 4:30 p.m., followed by ballpark gates at 5 p.m.
In honor of K-Pop Demon Hunters night, Fans who purchase a theme night ticket to Tuesday night's game through the Rangers' official website will receive a Saja Boys-Texas Rangers jersey. Theme night items will be available for pickup at the Northwest Entrance.
All Elite Wrestling TBS Champion Maya World and Texas-based Country Music Artist Hudson Westbrook will also be on hand to throw out the game’s first pitches.
Those not planning to head out to the Globe can catch all the action on Rangers Sports Network and on 105.3 The Fan on the radio side.
When the action on the field gets underway, MacKenzie Gore will take the mound for Texas to make his 29th start of the season.
Gore comes into play with a 7-10 record, a 4.10 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP, and 165 strikeouts in 149.1 innings in his first season with the Rangers.
Tuesday will mark Gore’s fourth time facing the A’s already this season. In those three starts, he has allowed eight earned runs.
In his last start against the Chicago White Sox, Gore struggled, going just 3.2 innings, allowing eight hits, and four earned runs.
On the other side of the ball, Rangers hitters will face their second left-handed starter in a row as they do battle with Brady Basso, who will make his 21st appearance but just his fourth start.
Coming into play, Basso is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA, a 1.39 WHIP, and 22 strikeouts in 28 innings this season.
Basso pitched 1.2 innings against the Rangers back on August 15, allowing just one hit. Texas will look for some better results against him on Tuesday.
Entering play, the Rangers sit just two games back of first place in the American League West despite their 68-70 record. Texas also remains just a game and a half back of the AL’s final Wild Card spot.
Following Tuesday’s game, Texas will play host to the A’s one more time this season in a Wednesday afternoon series-finale matchup to wrap up the first leg of the homestand.
