Joc Pederson homers as Texas Rangers put a bow on Spring Training games, beating Kansas City Royals 4-1.

On a sunny Tuesday afternoon at Globe Life Field, the Texas Rangers collected a win to wrap up Spring Training play.

Joc Pederson slammed a solo home run and Jack Leiter was solid on the mound, helping the Rangers defeat the Kansas City Royals 4-1.

Josh Smith's sacrifice fly helped the Rangers go up 2-0. Then Pederson smacked his one-out homer over the center-field wall in the bottom of the fourth inning. That put the Rangers up 3-0 at that point.

Then, in the bottom of the fifth inning, some sloppy infield play by the Royals helped Texas score its third run. Sam Haggerty reached base on a fielder's choice, which Royals second baseman Abraham Toro fielded. But Toro committed a throwing error, allowing Aaron Zavala to score.

Texas added another run in the sixth and managed to hold the Royals to just one run.

Speaking of Leiter, he worked four innings of two-hit ball. Leiter didn't allow a run to score and recorded six strikeouts while not allowing a walk. Leiter's Spring ERA wraps up at 3.38.

Cal Quantrill, the last of seven Rangers pitchers to take the mound at Globe Life Field, picked up his first Spring save.

Catcher Kyle Higashioka went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for the Rangers, who finished Spring Training play with an 18-12 record. The Royals finished up at 9-21.

Now it's time to turn your attention, Rangers fans, to Opening Day.

Opening Day: Rangers at Phillies

The Rangers are en route to the City of Brotherly Love where they'll officially open the 2026 MLB season against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

That's right, Rangers fans. Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, and the rest of the Phillies are going to be waiting for Texas to take the field. When the Rangers do, they'll also look over into the Phillies' dugout and see a familiar face.

Adolis García, who signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Phillies last December, will probably wave over and say hello to his old team.

For some more game details, MLB.com has offered some advice for Rangers fans.

Rangers fans can watch the Opening Day festivities on the Rangers Sports Network and listen on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM) for English and KFLC 1270 AM for Spanish.

First pitch is set for 4:15 p.m. ET.

Cristopher Sanchez gets the Opening Day start for the Phillies, while Nathan Eovaldi gets the honors for the Rangers.

Rob Thomson returns, once again, as Phillies manager, while the Rangers officially welcome Skip Schumaker back to the MLB regular-season grind in the dugout.

Look for the Phillies' Harper and the Rangers' Wyatt Langford to try and continue their hot hitting coming out of Spring Training.

Let's go, Rangers fans.
