Josh Jung will miss at least 10 days due to adductor strain injury, setting him back a bit for Texas Rangers.

News came out on Saturday that Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung will be out of action for at least 10 days due to an adductor strain.

Jung was getting ready for the 2026 MLB regular season with his teammates at the Rangers' Spring Training home in Surprise, Arizona.

Now, though, Jung will become a cheerleader on the sidelines for a bit.

“The thing about Josh is that he's such a hard worker,” Rangers manager Skip Schumaker told MLB.com Rangers beat reporter Kennedi Landry. “I think he's going to get back quicker than that 14-day mark. His process has been so good.

"I felt like his work in the cages, in the backfield and the lives were about to translate on the field," Schumaker said. "In the first couple games, he hit the ball as hard as anybody. I thought he was just trending in the right direction. Honestly, if there's stuff happening, I'd rather it happen now.”

In three Spring Training games, Jung has gone 2-for-6 at the plate.

In the 2025 MLB regular season, Jung played in 131 games, which was a pretty good mark for him. As Rangers fans know, Jung hasn't always been the healthiest player on the 40-man roster.

Still, if he can let his hamstring rest and get some therapy over the next few days, then he could be back in the lineup sooner than later.

Last season, Jung had a slash line of .251/.294/.684 with 14 home runs, 61 RBIs, and four stolen bases.

Infielder Justin Foscue out with injury

Landry also reported on Saturday that infielder Justin Foscue will be out due to a right hamstring strain. Foscue is trying to earn a roster spot in camp right now. So, any time missed might play a role in how things work out for him.

Landry indicated that Foscue left the Rangers' win over the Los Angeles Angels last Monday with right hamstring tightness.

Schumaker, though, was putting as much of a positive spin on losing Foscue for a bit as he could do.

“It doesn't change anything as far as his chances,” Schumaker said. “He's just gonna lose at-bats, which sucks for him. But I think as far as him breaking camp or anything, there's still four weeks left. He'll still have two weeks left of camp, really, to try to build up. He should get more at-bats.”
