The rest of the season will no doubt come with plenty of excitement. Entering play on Tuesday, the two teams tied for first place and the fourth-place team are separated by just a half game.

As for the action that took place on Monday for the Texas prospects, Sebastian Walcott, Paxton Kling, and Julian Brock were each in the starting lineup for Surprise.

Sebastian Walcott back in action

Walcott hit third and got the start at shortstop for the Saguaros, going 2-for-5 with a run batted in.

During his first at-bat in the first inning, Walcott came to the plate and ripped a single into left field off the bat at 106.6 mph. Just pitches later, the Rangers' top prospect would swipe second base.

After being retired in his next three at-bats, Walcott came back up to the plate in the ninth and once again made hard contact as he smoked an RBI double into left field off the bat at 113.9 mph.

Kling and Brock both solid

While hitting sixth in the lineup and playing right field, Texas outfield prospect Paxton Kling had another solid performance, collecting both a hit and a walk while coming around to score a run and also stealing a base.

Kling’s base hit came in the sixth inning as he drove an opposite-field single into right. In the very next inning, he would walk on six pitches.

Behind the plate, Rangers catching prospect Julian Brock got the start and didn’t manage to pick up a hit, but continued to display his strong plate discipline as he worked a pair of free passes.

Tough day for Rangers pitchers

On the mound, a pair of Texas prospects saw action. But, as was the case for most Surprise pitchers on this day, opposing batters were not kind.

Jacob Johnson got the start for the Saguaros and surrendered five runs (four of which were earned) in 2.2 innings.

Fellow Rangers pitching prospect Alejandro Chiquillo also saw action and gave up six runs (five earned) in 2.1 innings.
