The Texas Rangers saw five prospects in action during the Fall League on Wednesday, including top prospect Sebastian Walcott and outfielder Paxton Kling.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Arizona Fall League rolled on and several Texas Rangers prospects helped the Surprise Saguaros continue their winning ways.

Surprise took down the Solar Sox in a resounding 13-2 fashion to improve to 11-8 on the season.

With the win, the Saguaros pulled back to within a half-game of first place. The top four teams in the AFL standings are separated by just one game.

As for Wednesday’s action, Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott certainly left his stamp on the win.

Walcott hit cleanup in the Surprise batting order and went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored.

After being retired in his first two at-bats, Walcott returned to the plate in the fifth and smoked a two-RBI single up the middle.

In the sixth, Walcott smashed a double into center field off the bat at 107.1 mph, and in the seventh, he followed it up with an opposite-field single.

There was no defensive action for Walcott in this one as he served as the Saguaros' designated hitter. However, he continues to get defensive work on the side after he missed much of the minor-league season due to elbow surgery recovery.

Wednesday marked a very rare tough Fall League day for Texas outfield prospect Paxton Kling, who struggled and went 0-for-5 at the plate.

Kling has been the Rangers' best-performing position player prospect throughout his time in the AFL this season.

Despite not recording a hit in five tries on Wednesday, Kling did not strike out as he put the ball in play in each of his at-bats.

Rangers catching prospect Julian Brock got the start behind the dish and was able to continue his hot run at the plate.

Brock went 2-for-2 with a pair of hits, two walks, and three runs scored. The two walks are notable, as the young backstop has continued to have a strong showing in terms of plate discipline. His two hits this afternoon were both singles.

On the mound, a pair of Rangers relievers toed the rubber, and each came through with scoreless outings.

Jesus Gamez came on to face just one batter, but he made the most of it as he recorded a strikeout.

J'Briell Easley also pitched in the game and threw a scoreless inning with one strikeout and one hit allowed.

The Saguaros will be back in action on Thursday as they take on the Scottsdale Scorpions. The winner of that game will move into sole possession of second place.
