Sugano Goes to IL; Sullivan, Romano Join Rockies

After news broke earlier on Saturday that Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano would miss Saturday night's start against the San Francisco Giants, the ballclub later announced that Sugano was going on the 15-day Injured List.

Sugano's IL stint is retroactive to July 1 and he's dealing with back spasms.

In another move, reliever Seth Halvorsen also was put on the 15-day IL as he's dealing with right shoulder inflammation. His IL stint also is retroactive to July 1.

The Rockies recalled pitcher Seth Sullivan from Triple-A Albuquerque. As the ballclub announced earlier on Saturday, Sullivan will start in place of Sugano on Saturday night.

Additionally, Colorado selected the contract of pitcher Jordan Romano from Triple-A Albuquerque.
