With the Milwaukee Brewers looking to make a deep postseason run, they go out and get right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela from the Colorado Rockies.
Those trades involving the Colorado Rockies picked up on Monday as right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela was sent to the Milwaukee Brewers.
Senzatela has been solid mostly this season for the Rockies and led the team in wins on the pitching staff. At this point, though, with Colorado out of the National League West Division race, the idea must be to improve the roster.
A report posted on MLB.com's account on X shared details about the deal.
"Brewers reportedly acquire RHP Antonio Senzatela from Rockies, per multiple reports including @MLBNetwork insider @JonHeyman," according to the post. Another report indicated that Milwaukee was sending two prospects, left-handed pitcher Mark Manfredi and shortstop Juan Martinez, to the Rockies.
For the Brewers, they have had some troubles in keeping pitchers healthy. That does include ace pitcher Jacob Misiorowski. Should Senzatela be able to take up some of the slack for Milwaukee, that will make this deal a win-win situation in their eyes.
Senzatela now goes from the bottom of one division to the top of another in the National League. He basically relies on four main pitches: a four-seam fastball, a cutter, a sinker, and a curveball.
In 2025, Senzatela finished with a bad 4-15 record and a 6.65 ERA. He's been used mostly out of the bullpen this season and the results have spoken for themselves. Senzatela leaves Colorado with a 9-2 record and 3.61 ERA in 34 appearances. He has three saves and 42 strikeouts in 52.1 innings of work.
For Rockies president of baseball operations Paul DePodesta and general manager Josh Byrnes, this is one of the big moves that Rockies fans were waiting for them to make. There is still some time left before the final bell rings on the MLB Trade Deadline.
Oh, what about catcher Hunter Goodman? One report indicated that Goodman was in the batting cage below Coors Field and getting some work in at his time. Therefore, it's somewhat safe to assume that Goodman is staying in Colorado.
If that does happen, then DePodesta and Byrnes can really look at shaping a Rockies' lineup around him going forward. Plus, Cole Carrigg and TJ Rumfield can continue to make solid impressions on the field through the rest of this season.
Maybe Charlie Condon comes up for some MLB time before this season ends.
