The Colorado Rockies look to pick up another series win as they take on the Minnesota Twins in a three-game weekend series at Target Field in Minneapolis.
As the Colorado Rockies keep on winning series, they are going on the road to keep things rocking against the Minnesota Twins.
The Rockies and Twins will play a three-game weekend series at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minn. Entering the series, the Rockies are 32-49 overall and in last place in the National League West Division. But Colorado has been gaining on the fourth-place San Francisco Giants.
The Twins are 38-44 and in third place in the American League Central Division.
Both teams have things to play for in this series. Colorado wants to keep on winning, while Minnesota hopes to take advantage of another team with a less-than-.500 record.
It will be interesting to see how TJ Rumfield, Cole Carrigg, Jake McCarthy, and the rest of the Rockies' lineup can keep the pressure on Twins pitchers this weekend. They have shown a knack, along with other hitters in the lineup, to put on their best performances late in games.
Slowly, Colorado is developing a reputation as a bunch of comeback kids. That's not a bad thing, either.
Let's take a look at this series' starting pitchers, along with start times for all three games this weekend.
Probable Starters
Friday, June 26: Tomoyuki Sugano vs. Taj Bradley
Sugano enters Friday night's game with an 8-4 overall record and a 4.31 ERA. He's had a knack of producing pretty well this season, despite his ERA going above four.
Bradley is 6-3 with a 4.11 ERA. He has struck out 84 batters this season, while Sugano has 46 strikeouts.
If Sugano can get off to a good start on Friday night, that could set the tone for the rest of the weekend series. That would be a good thing for the Rockies to do.
Saturday, June 27: Michael Lorenzen vs. Mike Paredes
Lorenzen doesn't have a great season record with it standing at 2-9 overall with a 7.11 ERA.
Paredes comes into Saturday's game at Target Field with no record and a 4.05 ERA with 11 strikeouts this season.
Look for both pitchers to come out and try getting off to a solid start.
Sunday, June 28: Ryan Feltner vs. Connor Prielipp
Feltner is 2-2 with a 4.79 ERA. At times, Feltner has looked good while a bit shaky at other times, too. Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer hopes that Feltner can perform at a high level against the Twins' lineup.
Prielipp is 2-5 this season with a 5.17 ERA and 55 strikeouts to his name.
Can Feltner put on a stellar start at this time? Rockies fans will have to tune in and see.
