On Thursday afternoon, MLB released the Colorado Rockies' schedule for the 2027 season. That's the good news. Now, will there be a season in the 2027 season?

Right now, the Major League Baseball Players Association and league owners are trying to iron out a new deal between both parties. There doesn't appear to be much wiggle room between them. That leaves players and fans wondering if the season will even get started by Opening Day.

Will the 2027 season start, then get disrupted by a work stoppage?

Let's put those important thoughts and questions aside for now, though. The attention right now should be on who the Rockies will play next season.

Who's up first for Rockies?

According to the Rockies' media information department, Colorado begins its season with a six-game road trip to California. The Rockies open the season with three games against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park on Thursday, March 25, before traveling to play the San Diego Padres for three games March 29-31.

Now, when do the Rockies open up their 2027 home schedule? They will celebrate Opening Day at Coors Field against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday, April 1, the first of four games against the Dodgers to open the 81-game home schedule.

This will be the fifth time in franchise history the Rockies have welcomed the Dodgers on Opening Day at Coors Field, the first time since 2022.

Rockies' schedule highlights

So, some highlights on the Rockies' 2027 schedule include home games on Father’s Day (Sunday, June 20 vs. Chicago Cubs), Independence Day (Sunday, July 4 vs. Toronto Blue Jays) and Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 6 vs. Cincinnati Reds).

The Rockies will also host the Cubs for three games, June 18-20, and the New York Yankees for three games, July 26-28.

The schedule also includes a scheduled split doubleheader against the Padres at Coors Field on Saturday, July 10, just before the All-Star break, July 12-15.

When does the 2027 regular season conclude? It will for the Rockies with six home games against National League West rivals the Dodgers (Sept. 21-23) and the Giants (Sept. 24-26).

Colorado has a chance to reach .500 this season, but it is a longshot. Going into the 2027 season, the Rockies would love to have some momentum from this season. Let's see if Colorado can do so.
