Game Day Discussion

Former White Sox LHP blows World Series
The Milwaukee Brewers were three outs away from the first World Series championship in franchise history on Tuesday night, and it was former White Sox Rule 5 draft pick Shane Drohan who got the ball in the 12th inning.
Granted, an error put a runner on base, but Drohan then surrendered a series of hits and blew the game without recording an out.

21 years since the 2005 World Series win
Today marks the 21st anniversary of the Chicago White Sox winning the 2005 World Series in Houston.
It's a day that will always hold a special place in the hearts of White Sox fans. But with the team back in contention, it also inspires confidence that we could have another day like it to celebrate soon.

Game 2 Anniversary
What a day in White Sox history.
Yesterday marked the 21st anniversary of Game 2 of the 2005 World Series, featuring Paul Konerko's iconic grand slam and Scott Podsednik's walk-off home run that left the baseball world in shock.

Guardians get karma
Good news, White Sox fans. The Cleveland Guardians have been eliminated, and they've won the exact same trophy as Chicago.
Cleveland did a lot of talking and parading around like they had won the World Series after beating the White Sox in the ALDS. All of that just to be eliminated before winning the pennant.

Caleb Bonemer continues to rake
Just a few days ago, I wrote about Caleb Bonemer’s early success in the Arizona Fall League, and since then, all he’s done is keep hitting.
Bonemer is now batting .313 with a 1.045 OPS after hitting his second home run of the fall.

Guardians ALCS Lead
Not going to lie, watching the Guardians win Game 1 of the ALCS in Tampa made things even more frustrating.
I always felt like if the White Sox could get past Cleveland, they had a puncher’s chance against the Rays. And watching that game only reinforced that belief.

Confidence level for Game 5
What's our confidence level tonight?
It feels like the fan base is really down after dropping two consecutive home games, and rightfully so. But the White Sox are still very much alive in this series. All it takes is one win, and this team is ALCS-bound.

Need to see Venable do this…
Need to see Will Venable show some patience with Sean Burke tonight.
He's had a quick trigger when turning to the bullpen throughout the postseason, which I haven't had an issue with. But given the current state of White Sox pitching, they need Burke to work deep into this game.

Can Sean Burke put the team on his back?
If there's one silver lining for the White Sox heading into Game 5 of the ALDS on Saturday, it's having Sean Burke on the mound.
He's been excellent against Cleveland all year and has been the most reliable starting pitcher the White Sox have. They'll need him at his absolute best, and they'll need him to pitch until his arm falls off.

What a disappointing homestand
This series isn't over, but these home games were a massive disappointment.
White Sox fans deserved to see this team clinch a postseason series at home. It hasn't happened in 120 years, they had two opportunities to do it, and both ended in complete letdowns.
