Saturday's loss to the Athletics was another frustrating loss for the White Sox, and it was another bad look for manager Will Venable.
Athletics broadcaster Dallas Braden was one of many people pointing out in real time that the White Sox had an opportunity to face the pitcher in the bottom of the 11th inning and force a relief pitcher to bat.
Will Venable seemed to not understand the situation or the rules, and by pitching to Max Muncy, the White Sox lost the game on a sac fly. Pretty bad missed opportunity there. It hasn't been a great start to the 2026 season for the White Sox manager.
