In August of 2025, the White Sox designated right-handed pitcher Jesse Scholtens for assignment.

He was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Rays and resurfaced in MLB with two appearances out of the Rays' bullpen in late 2025.

He got called back up by Tampa Bay on April 8 and pitched against the Cubs on Wednesday night. He did 4.2 scoreless innings.

Just kind of eating some innings on a temporary basis, but good for him. Scholtens was a late bloomer and is 32 years old now. It's nice to see him still get some MLB opportunity after breaking through with the White Sox a few years back.
