Kyle Larson scored his first drafting track win in the NASCAR Cup Series at exactly the right time, crashing championship contenders' hopes Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway.

LINCOLN, Ala. -- Kyle Larson scored his first drafting track win in the NASCAR Cup Series at exactly the right time.

Larson took the white flag in the lead and then fell back to 11th after Austin Hill made a move on him exiting turn two. What looked like the perfect day gone wrong quickly turned right as jockeying up front opened the door for Larson to get back to the front and win.

Larson led four times for 23 of 188 laps and earned a total of 71 points with the win and stage finishes of fourth and second Sunday.

"All my Chevy, GM partners, I gotta thank them for working with me. I definitely felt them and it was the best speedway race I've ever had," Larson said. "Everything just opened up off of four. Unbelievable way to get my first speedway win. I don't think they've ever seen me win in-person before."

Two more Chevrolet drivers rounded out the top-10: Alex Bowman and Michael McDowell.

Entering Talladega, Larson led Christopher Bell by five points, Chase Briscoe by 24, Hamlin by 31, Ryan Blaney by 40, Joey Logano by 44 and Tyler Reddick by 56.
