Call him Doctor Love: Jesse Love put on a clinic in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series at Phoenix Raceway to win and extend his points lead Saturday.

AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Call him Doctor Love: Jesse Love put on a clinic in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series at Phoenix Raceway to win and extend his points lead Saturday.

Love led nine times for 156 of 200 laps, swept the stages and, for the second year in a row, went to victory lane in the fall Phoenix race.

The effort was enough to warrant a near-perfect 75-point day for Love. Justin Allgaier claimed the one-point bonus for running the fastest lap of the race to keep himself within 36 points of Love.

Allgaier finished third after leading twice for 18 laps -- all during the second stage. The No. 1 seed pulled out to a solid lead at the start of the stage before the 'doc in the No. 2 car gave him a taste of his medicine.

Allgaier finished third to Love in the first stage and second to him in the second stage. After the race, he had words for Sam Mayer, who bumped him to get to Love for the win.

Mayer lost out on his first win in 40 races by 0.128 seconds. He finished sixth and fifth in the stages and then started to come to life in the final stage.

The main driver that Mayer had to pass to get to Love was Corey Day, who took the lead at the start of the second stage. He led twice for seven laps before sliding back to fourth at the finish.

TOP-10 FINISHERS (LAP 200): Jesse Love, Sam Mayer, Justin Allgaier, Corey Day, Sammy Smith, Brandon Jones, Dean Thompson, William Sawalich, Rajah Caruth, Carson Kvapil.

Two Chase drivers finished 25th or worse under completely different circumstances.

Taylor Gray finished 28th after starting fifth and finishing ninth and third in the stages. After Gray's third-place stage finish, Gray's pit crew had a penalty that put him in the rear of the field and in the middle of a crash on lap 102.

Sheldon Creed also had issues after earning stage points but it happened earlier than Gray. After finishing second in the first stage, Creed made the usual move to shut the car off to save fuel.

Unusually, the car didn't turn back on. The whole field passed him before a tow truck pushed him back to pit road where his crew looked under the hood of his car.

Creed said after the race there was something under the hood that went wrong but didn't know what it was.

The final caution fell on lap 161 during a cycle of green flag pit stops. Five drivers hadn't pitted, including leader and Chase driver Parker Retzlaff. Retzlaff finished 11th, best of the others who caught the caution: Harrison Burton (13th), Andrew Patterson (14th), Ryan Ellis (18th) and Lavar Scott (19th).

Brennan Poole finished 35th after crashing twice -- on lap 102 and lap 161. He announced his foray to Jordan Anderson Racing in 2027 on Friday at Phoenix Raceway.

STAGE ONE TOP-10 (LAP 45): Jesse Love, Sheldon Creed, Justin Allgaier, Rajah Caruth, Sammy Smith, Sam Mayer, Carson Kvapil, Jeremy Clements, Taylor Gray, Corey Day.

STAGE TWO TOP-10 (LAP 90): Jesse Love, Justin Allgaier, Taylor Gray, Corey Day, Sam Mayer, Rajah Caruth, Sammy Smith, Carson Kvapil, Austin Hill, Dean Thompson.

Love moved to 36 points ahead of Justin Allgaier, 39 ahead of Corey Day, 59 ahead of Sheldon Creed, 79 ahead of Carson Kvapil and 86 ahead of Sam Mayer in the fight for the NOAPS championship with three races to go.

Next is Talladega Superspeedway, Oct. 24 on The CW at 3:30 p.m. ET. Austin Hill won last year. He finished 15th on Saturday at Phoenix.
