MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Jake Garcia has signed with Front Row Motorsports to join their NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team in 2027.

Front Row signed Garcia to take over the No. 38 Ford in 2027 with support from longtime sponsor Quanta Services. He will replace Chandler Smith, who is set to race Richard Childress Racing's No. 21 NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series car next season.

Garcia has one career NCTS win – at Bristol Motor Speedway – earlier this month and made the postseason in 2025. He finished 10th in the points standings last year.

“We’re excited to have Jake join us next season,” said Jerry Freeze, general manager of Front Row Motorsports. “He displayed it at Bristol and over his entire Truck Series career, he has the talent, abilities and personal motivation to keep our No. 38 team at the top of the heap and continue to help FRM set the bar in the series. We’re confident in what Jake brings to the table, and we look forward to seeing him put in the work during the offseason, to get ready for 2027.”

Garcia will turn 22 years old just after the 2027 season will start and it'll already be his fifth full-time NCTS season. He spent one season with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing – in 2023 – before joining ThorSport Racing the following season through the end of 2026.

Garcia will now join the organization that has ruled the series and victory lane since forming its team in in 2020. In seven seasons, FRM's NCTS teams have 23 wins, 83 top-five finishes, 122 top-10 finishes and 11 poles in 205 entries.

Driver Zane Smith brought home the 2022 championship to the No. 38 team. Since then, the organization has knocked on the door of another championship but hasn't broken through.

Layne Riggs won three times in 2025 and now six times in 2026 to push the envelope on FRM's championship hopes. However, he faces a setback after a tough start to the Chase put him 37 points back with five races to go.

Riggs will be back with FRM's NCTS team in 2027 as he looks to incorporate some NASCAR Cup Series races into his schedule. For 2027, all of FRM's Cup Series drivers – Noah Gragson (No. 4), Todd Gilliland (No. 34) and Zane Smith (No. 38) are locked into their rides. However, there is the possibility for Riggs to get some races in a part-time entry.

Garcia didn't make the Chase this year. However, the win at Bristol is a big step forward for him as he looks ahead to 2027.

Garcia will finish the season in his No. 98 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing before getting the keys to the No. 38 Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports.

Garcia's departure leaves behind an opening at ThorSport Racing. It's unknown who will fill it.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series' next race is set for Friday, Oct. 9 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (5 p.m. ET; FS1, NASCAR Racing Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90).
