NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series driver Jeb Burton is joining RSS Racing in 2027, he announced Tuesday on social media.

Burton will drive the Sieg family-owned No. 22 Chevrolet full-time in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2027. He touted the team for "building something special" and going in a good direction with their performance.

Burton told Roundtable in September he was frustrated but motivated, heading into what is now the final few races of a four-season run with Jordan Anderson Racing.

Burton won at Talladega Superspeedway in April of 2023, allowing him to make the postseason and to win that particular NOAPS race for the second time in three years.

Not only will Jeb Burton race for a different team in 2027, he will also race a different number for the first time since 2021. The No. 22 is the number his father, Ward Burton,  became an icon with as a NASCAR Cup Series driver. Ward earned five wins and two top-10 finishes in the No. 22 car, including the 2001 Southern 500 and the 2002 Daytona 500.

Jeb Burton will bring the No. 22 back to the series in that style in 2027. Burton was the last driver to race the number in NOAPS competition – at Daytona International Speedway in August when he finished 12th in a throwback scheme in honor of his father.

The No. 22's last full season in NOAPS competition was 2021. Team Penske closed out a run of 12 illustrious full seasons with Austin Cindric getting the number to a second-place points finish, a year after winning the series championship.

Burton joining RSS Racing means there's an opening at Jordan Anderson Racing. It's unknown who will take over the No. 27 car in 2027 or any other details.

At RSS Racing in 2027, it's likely Ryan Sieg will return. If so, Burton's signing would leave the status of Kyle Sieg – their other full-time driver and Ryan's brother – up in the air.

RSS Racing has two NOAPS wins. The team's first win was at Sonoma Raceway in June of 2023 with Aric Almirola in a Stewart-Haas Racing-backed-and-prepared entry.

The real coronation for the team was at Daytona International Speedway in August of this year when Ryan Sieg won for the first time in his NOAPS career for his family's team. It snapped a 423-race winless streak that saw him come close to winning numerous times.

Sieg and Burton are 15th and 21st in the NOAPS standings, out of championship contention. This season, Sieg has two top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes, including the Daytona win, and 93 laps led, while Burton has three top-10s and eight laps led.
