
Jesse Love put his No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet on the pole for Saturday’s Ag-Pro 300 in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series at Talladega Superspeedway.
TALLADEGA, Ala. – Jesse Love put his No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet on the pole for Saturday’s Ag-Pro 300 in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series at Talladega Superspeedway.
Love turned a lap of 52.525 seconds, averaging 182.313 mph around the 2.66-mile track. This marks Richard Childress Racing’s seventh pole in the last eight NOAPS races at Talladega. RCR is looking for their fourth NOAPS win at Talladega in the last five races, including Austin Hill's sweep last year.
Love will lead the field to the green alongside Sam Mayer. In his No. 41 Audibel Chevrolet, Mayer posted the second-quickest time of 52.567 seconds, averaging 182.168 mph.
Corey Day will roll off third in Hendrick Motorsports' No. 17 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet, with Josh Williams fourth in his No. 92 First Bank of Alabama Chevrolet.
Williams and teammate Mason Maggio had a strong showing for DGM with Maggio qualified 10th. Anthony Alfredo also had another strong showing for an independent team, qualifying ninth for his No. 96 Viking Motorsports Chevrolet team.
Former teammates Sheldon Creed and Austin Hill make up the third row, for Haas Factory Team and RCR, respectively.
Points leader Justin Allgaier qualified 11th in his No. 7 Brandt Chevrolet. JR Motorsports teams Rajah Caruth and Carson Kvapil will start ahead of him, in seventh and eighth, while teammate Sammy Smith will start close to Allgaier, in 13th.
