MIAMI -- The NASCAR Awards are moving to Miami for 2027 with a ceremony set for two days after NASCAR Championship Weekend wraps up.
The ceremony will honor the NASCAR Cup Series champion two days after they're crowned at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It will also honor the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champions set to be crowned in the days before the Cup Series champion is crowned.
The NASCAR Channel will livestream the ceremony, starting at 6 p.m. ET that day. It's set to take place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.
This year marks the second year of the ceremony taking place in the host metropolitan area of championship weekend and just days after it takes place. Last year, the NASCAR Awards ceremony took place in Scottsdale, Arizona, just two days after Kyle Larson was crowned the NASCAR Cup Series champion at Phoenix Raceway.
Jesse Love and Corey Heim were also honored as the champions of the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, respectively.
Previously, the ceremony took place weeks after championship weekend and in an entirely different metropolitan area than the championship weekend. Up until 2024, the ceremony took place all the way in December, well after the season was done. For many years, it also aired on cable TV, including TNT, ESPN, Speed and NBC Sports Network.
The Waldorf Astoria in New York City was the longtime host of the NASCAR Awards ceremony up until 2009, when it shifted to the Wynn in Las Vegas. Then, in 2019 and from 2021 to 2023, it moved to the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
In 2024, the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, hosted the ceremony.
2021 marked the first time the NOAPS and NCTS awards were combined with the Cup awards. Before, the series' award ceremony was held in a different venue, including in Miami for several years.
NASCAR will host a celebration for the NASCAR Regional Series (ARCA Menards Series, ARCA Menards Series East, ARCA Menards Series West, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series) and the NASCAR International Series (NASCAR Brasil Series, NASCAR Canada Series, NASCAR Mexico Series and NASCAR Whelen Euro Series), on Friday, Nov. 20 in Charlotte, N.C. at the Charlotte Convention Center.
As of now, for NASCAR's national series, Denny Hamlin, Justin Allgaier and Layne Riggs are set to be honored as the champions of the Cup, O'Reilly and Truck Series. Still, many races remain in the Chase for each championship.
