LOUDON, N.H. -- Tyler Reddick returned to form in the NASCAR Cup Series with the pole for Sunday's Dollar Tree 301 race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Reddick earned his first pole position since the April race at Kansas Speedway, which was the last of his five wins so far this season. He earned the pole with a lap of 29.054 seconds, 0.015 seconds faster than Josh Berry.

Berry is looking for his fourth consecutive top-10 finish after finishing seventh at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, fourth at Iowa Speedway and eighth at Richmond Speedway. He is also looking for a job but his recent run and New Hampshire, where he finished second last year, could boost his outlook.

William Byron, Denny Hamlin, Shane van Gisbergen, Christopher Bell, Ty Gibbs, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman rounded out the top-10 starters.

SVG has an advantage of 50 driver points and 25 owner points over Ryan Preece and RFK Racing's No. 60 team for the Chase. Preece will start 18th but will start ahead of SVG, who will drop to the rear of the field at the start of the race for unapproved adjustments.

Erik Jones had the fastest car in practice (29.242 seconds), 0.021 seconds faster than Ty Gibbs (29.263). Rounding out the top-10 in practice were: Bubba Wallace (29.277), Joey Logano (29.286), Austin Cindric (29.297), William Byron (29.304), John Hunter Nemechek (29.370), Chase Elliott (29.370), Josh Berry (29.381) and Christopher Bell (29.383). 

Bell was fastest on the 10-lap average (29.552, laps 1-10) over William Byron (29.576, laps 2-11) and Ryan Blaney, who showed the most promise in practice.

Blaney, the defending New Hampshire winner, averaged a lap time of 29.580 seconds from laps 33 to 42 in practice. He topped the 15-lap, 20-lap, 25-lap and 30-lap average charts, showing the best long run speed of anyone in the field.

SVG was 17th-fastest overall in the 50-minute practice and 21st on the 10-lap average, while Preece was 18th and 28th, respectively.

Blaney is locked into the Chase for the NASCAR Cup Series championship and isn't worried about holding on to a spot. However, he is trying to hang on to the No. 2 seed and a valuable advantage for the reset after Daytona next Saturday, Aug. 29. 

After New Hampshire, any driver 76 points or more above the cutline will be locked into the Chase, while any driver 76 points or more below the cutline will be eliminated. SVG could lock into the Chase and freeze the field going into Daytona.
