RFK Racing, Kaulig's No. 16 team to run Greg Biffle-style numbers in Daytona 500

CONCORD, N.C. — RFK Racing's four cars and Kaulig Racing's No. 16 car will all run Greg Biffle-style numbers in the Daytona 500. 

Brad Keselowski's No. 6 car, Chris Buescher's No. 17 car, Ryan Preece's No. 60 car and Corey LaJoie's No. 99 car will all be in the 'wild-style' number font Biffle made famous throughout his NASCAR Cup Series career. 

A.J. Allmendinger, the current driver of the No. 16, for Kaulig Racing, will sport the exact 'wild-style' No. 16 that Biffle drove in 503 of his 515 career starts in the series. 

“Greg Biffle made the No. 16 famous and was a true friend to Kaulig Racing and the whole racing community,” said Chris Rice, CEO of Kaulig Racing. “This is our way of honoring his incredible career and the person he was. When AJ Allmendinger drives this car at Daytona, we hope fans remember Greg, his family, and all the great memories he gave us.”

In addition to the tribute numbers, all RFK Racing cars will carry a circular memorial decal above the B-post during the Cook Out Clash. The decal will carry the words, “The Biff 16, In Loving Memory of Greg Biffle," and will be on the cars throughout 2026. 

“Greg Biffle was more than a championship driver, he was family,” said RFK Racing Co-owner Brad Keselowski. “He helped shape who we are as an organization and his legacy is woven into this team’s history. Returning to the iconic numeric font that defined so much of his career, and adding the season long decal to each car, are meaningful ways for us to honor Greg and carry his spirit. We can’t bring him back, but we can honor him on the track the best way we know how, all season long.”

NASCAR will also paint a large-scale, painted stencil of the memorial decal on Bowman Gray Stadium's infield grass for the Clash. 

Biffle earned 19 wins, 92 top-five finishes, 175 top-10 finishes and 13 poles in 515 starts. He finished a career-high second in the points standings and won six times in 2005. All that separated him from becoming the first driver to win a championship in Cup, the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series was just 35 points – the equivalent of about seven positions in today's format. 

Biffle died in a Dec. 18 plane crash that claimed the lives of six other people, including his wife and two of his children, Jack and Dennis Dutton and Craig Wadsworth. 

The seven people killed were remembered during a Jan. 16 memorial in Charlotte, North Carolina. 

RFK Racing is set to have tributes throughout the season. Details will be announced at a later date.
