The NASCAR Cup Series' regular season is set to hit the halfway mark this weekend with the Coca-Cola 600 and NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series action joining them at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
CONCORD, N.C. -- The NASCAR Cup Series' regular season is set to hit the halfway mark this weekend with the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The 600-mile marathon is the headlining race for a homecoming weekend with all three NASCAR national series -- Cup, O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and Craftsman Truck Series -- at the 1.5-mile speedway.
NASCAR Cup Series' Coca-Cola 600
- 400 laps (Stages end on laps 100, 200, 300 and 400)
- 6 p.m. ET

Three open entries are entered for this weekend's race: Timmy Hill (No. 66 Garage 66 Ford), Corey Heim (No. 67 23XI Racing Toyota), Katherine Legge (No. 78 Team Live Fast Chevrolet).
Legge is trying to become the sixth driver in history to do the Memorial Day Weekend Double of running the Indianapolis 500 and then flying to Charlotte to run the Coca-Cola 600.
Kyle Larson attempted it the last two years. In 2024, he completed the Indy 500 but rain kept him out of the Coca-Cola 600. In 2025, he crashed out of both races.
In 11 Double attempts, only five have seen a driver complete at least 1,000 miles:
- Tony Stewart: 2001 (1,100 miles)
- Robby Gordon: 2002 (1,098.5)
- Tony Stewart: 1999 (1,090)
- Robby Gordon: 2000 (1,083.5)
- Robby Gordon: 2003 (1,021)
Legge has completed an average of 196 laps in the two Indy 500 starts not plagued by mechanical issues or a crash. If she can do that again, she'll just need to complete 340 of the 400 laps in the Coca-Cola 600 to have the sixth Double attempt with at least 1,000 miles complete.
Breaking barriers, she'd also become the first woman to complete the Double.
The weather, unfortunately, is looking uncertain with a chance of rain at both Indy and Charlotte. However, that could change.
