The 76ers have built a roster to win. There's three important ways for the team to win an NBA Title.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been on everyone’s mind with training camp starting up. It’s still questions that need to be answered but for now, the team is set and ready for the season to begin.
There are some skeptics who haven’t fully fallen on the 76er bandwagon and it’s easy to see why.
With that being said, here’s three keys for the 76ers to have a successful:
Run through Tyrese Maxey.
It’s true that the 76ers brought in LeBron James and Jaylen Brown because they can help win, but the one that makes this team go is Maxey. No one else has his innate ability to create their own shot like him. His scoring numbers have increased each season, and while there are new faces, it shouldn’t change what he does as a scorer. In fact, it’ll be easier on the entire team if the offense is meant for Maxey. He was the one constant last season and this season should be the same.
Keep Joel Embiid healthy.
Now this may be something that’s out of the control of the organization, but Joel Embiid has to remain on the floor if they want to have a chance at winning. Embiid has been the center piece for the team for the last decade, he has plenty of help but he will have to be an avid contributor. Embiid has to be healthy because there’s no one adequate to back up the seven time all-star. Embiid as the defensive anchor is important and vital for crucial moments. If they need to, they could limit his play in terms of no back-to-back games and limiting his minutes on a nightly basis.
Utilize the bench.
This roster is stacked with young talent. Along with that young talent is a slew of veterans who can contribute in a major way. Dean Wade, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Anfernee Simons and others are going to play a big part if the 76ers want to make a deep playoff run. Last season, the 76ers relied heavily on their starters which is partly why Maxey logged in over 30 minutes a might. Wade and Simons will relieve some of that pressure as they can hold their own offensively. James and company are going to need them so they have to be ready when called upon.
This is going to be one of the most anticipated seasons Philadelphia has seen in quite some time. It’s only going to intensify as the season goes on. If the 76ers can do this, there’s a good chance they head to an NBA Finals appearance.
