Dr. J is eager for the NBA season to start. The additions of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown bring familiar feeling to the Hall of Famer.

A legend of the team believes this year's Philadelphia 76ers is special and in store for an exciting season.

Julius “Dr. J” Erving was surprised when he heard the news of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown joining the 76ers. When asked about how surprising it was, Erving detailed that he had “no reason to expect that they would get those guys.”

This was a surprise to many. But it's soon to be a match made in heaven. These players have ways of complimenting each other, and that’s going to be big for them to win. Even Dr. J believes this team can easily get on the same page and put teams on their heels.

"I think it's going to be easy. You know, I mean, talent recognizes talent, and you know those guys come in with tremendous reputations, and they're true professionals because they've been around long enough, particularly LeBron," Erving said. “So, in terms of being true professionals, coach sits it down, comes up with a nice scheme, nice game plan. Everybody applies work ethic to the task, and you end up winning games.”

Everyone has seen that workout video now, and it shows what many already knew: this team will be dangerous on the offensive end. There have been some that feel if you can clog the paint, the offense is an easy read. Anyone who says that must not know how deadly this team is when it comes to shooting the ball.

On catch-and-shoot shots the 76ers had a 37.7% field goal percentage. As a team they were 34.6% on 23 attempted three-point shots a game. Even with these types of numbers, some believe it will be too crowded for the team to shoot at this rate.

Now, the expectations for this team are extremely high. Dr. J has seen other 76ers teams have this type of pressure on them, but it’s nothing like he’s seen for this year.

"I think there's great expectation already because, you know, you're getting two major talents in the same year, same month. Basically, teams don't usually do that, and the NBA has been a copycat league where you know you get a good player or you have a good season. Other teams want to play the same way," emphasized Erving.

Even with these expectations, there shouldn’t be any confusion; this team will be a problem. Even though it’s hard to compare a team like this, they’re sure to be something special. When it’s time, head coach Nick Nurse will be his best five out there, and the fireworks will begin.
