Jaylen Brown has always been a guy to move at his own accord. So, it makes sense to want his teammates to block out all the outside noise.

There is so much pressure on the Philadelphia 76ers to win a championship that many people aren’t worried about anything else. It's completely understandable to want the best from their favorite team, but sometimes, it gets to be a bit much.

Jaylen Brown talked about all the speculation about how this team should be and what their end goals are. For Brown, he believes it’s all about having fun. When you start to put a label on how things should be, that's when you take the fun out of it. As for the team’s sake, you have to keep the morale and spirits high, or you’ve lost the season before it even gets started.

Everything has to be focused on in the moment, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy what you love, and that’s exactly what Brown was trying to convey. There’s a difference between being excited for a season and being demanding for it. NBA players are humans too, and that’s the message Brown wants to send to the public.

This is nothing new, from a player of Brown’s character to speak out about something like this. Most would frown about this kind of talk, as it sounds as if he’s standing against the fans, but it is actually the opposite.

He just wants the players to bond and build together and remove the outside noise that will surely make its way through the locker room as the season progresses. It’s going to be for the best if this team wants to be a top-five playoff team. There are already folks who don’t believe in the 76ers and think they'll be no better than a play-in team. Philadelphia can be a successful team, but they have to learn to have fun while playing the game. Too much seriousness and it’s just going to lead to another early exit for a franchise that is relegated to mediocrity.

Some of the younger players can help with that very thing. VJ Edgecombe would be the one who you can count on to keep things light. After all, he was showing signs of leadership in his rookie season. What makes it even better is that because he had the season he had in his rookie campaign, he has earned some respect within the locker room.

The bottom line is, this team’s main objective is an NBA title. But it doesn’t mean they won’t have fun and enjoy the ride along the way.
