On media day, it's time to stake your claim. LeBron James' first rule of business is to improve the chemistry on the 76ers.

Media day was a huge success. The world finally got to see LeBron James as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Many questions were hurled at James as he donned the 76ers threads, and he didn’t shy away from any of it. A question many have been wondering is how he plans to build chemistry with his teammates. He gave a simple yet complex answer, detailing that it takes time and it’s about the little things.

James went on to say it’s going to be the time they spend together off the court that matters the most. When they travel together and all the time that they spend looking at film or dissecting new plays on the floor. Either way, it’s going to be something that builds up over the course of the season.  A team is built on more than game planning; it’s a skill that many teams fail to harness, and it’s why they can’t achieve the goals they desire.

One huge thing James said is that it’s got to be something that you want; this type of thing isn’t something that you can pull out of thin air.

“You have to fall in love with doing things that are uncomfortable. If we can do that, then we can be a great team," said James.

He’s right. No one wants to do the same old thing and stay confined within their comfort zones. When you do things like that, then you create habits that teams can pick up on, and that’s the last thing you ever want when you’re competing for a championship.

It’s funny that James brings up being uncomfortable, as that is exactly what he expects from Jaylen Brown. Not in the negative sense, but more to the idea that Brown speaks his mind and enjoys being uncomfortable. This could be the very thing that helps the team build chemistry at a rapid pace.

This team have been itching to get a chance to play with one another, and that time is soon approaching. But building that chemistry that James was talking about is going to be what everyone wants to see. The determined look in James’ eye tells you that this is a huge focus of his, and as a player looking to win a title, it’s a great sight to see.

When you have guys like Tyrese Maxey, Brown, and VJ Edgecombe, it’s important to understand them as a player and as a person. When you start to do that, then they become more than a teammate, and that’s where you start to build the pieces for the championship team.

It’s like James said, if you want to win, you have to get comfortable doing the uncomfortable.
