LeBron James Is Giving 76ers Something They've Been Missing

Leadership is a quality that not many people have. When you’re playing for a team like the Philadelphia 76ers, there has to be a voice in the room. With so many brooding personalities, it’s important to have a voice of reasoning.

LeBron James has already established his voice in the locker room, and some players have already taken what he’s said to heart. Jabari Walker has talked with James to better understand the ins and outs of the NBA. Walker was taken aback, as this information was something he couldn’t even fathom.

“He’s not talking just to talk. He just commands the room… He always has a solution for everything. If I don’t know something, I’m going to Bron.” said Walker

This is the kind of thing that benefits a locker room. James has been around for quite some time, and he also has a following. Some of these young guys have idolized James and now have the chance to play with their idol. VJ Edgecombe has made his point for being a little starstruck when he first met James, but now it’s business as usual.

The season is growing closer, and a voice like James is important for a team that has to figure itself out, and the 76ers certainly have a few things to figure out. It’s so many things that cast a shadow over this team that a leader and experienced veteran like James has to take charge and settle things down.  Whether the players take anything away from the preseason is hard to tell. Many may think nothing of it because it’s about getting players in shape and finalizing the roster. But there is still something to take away when there are constant issues throughout the season.

From the turnovers to the lack of big men, there are so many things that can shift this team’s focus that there has to be a voice of reason. There will certainly be major obstacles in their way, and it’s going to require a group effort to make it work. As stated before, this preseason has shown more flaws than perfection, and sometimes, that’s okay.  The only problem here is that there really is no room for error. There’s only one expectation for this team, and if it is not met, there’s going to be some very tough discussion.

That's why it’s imperative that James continues to speak up when it’s necessary. Whether it be for the betterment of a player or the team as a whole, there are no cut cards for anyone. This team was put together for one purpose, to win a championship, so James will do and say whatever it takes to make that happen.
