The Bucks could some major talent in the draft.

The Milwaukee Bucks have a lot of issues within their roster that they need to address and a variety of ways to do it, including through the NBA Draft. Considering that the Bucks have the 10th-overall pick in the upcoming draft, which promises to be one of the most talented classes in recent memory, there should be a lot of opportunity.

With that opportunity, the Bucks have taken a look at a variety of players, but a recent mock draft from The Athletic connects the Bucks with a talented freshman guard out of Louisville.

The Athletic proposes that the Bucks select Mikel Brown Jr. with the 10th-overall pick, pointing toward his abilities as a playmaker as his biggest plus.

The Case for Brown

“Brown is a dynamic playmaker with the ball who can play in ball screens, make high-level passing reads and shoot. However, his decision-making can be questionable at times while trying to hit home runs, and his scoring inside of 15 feet has left some scouts with questions," Sam Vecenie wrote.

In 21 games, 19 of which he started for Louisville, Brown Jr. averaged 18.2 points, 4.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 41% from the field.

Brown Jr. wasn't always the first option for the talented Louisville roster, which is exactly why his abilities as a playmaker and as someone who can create looks for his teammates stands out.

Building A Back Court

Picking up someone with his skillset could be a huge plus when it comes to rebuilding the Bucks roster. No matter what happens with Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason, one thing is clear and that is that Ryan Rollins needs to be a central part of the Bucks' future.

Finding an elite point guard like Brown Jr. to pair alongside Rollins could be the perfect complementary piece. Building a strong young back court is a core tenet of many rebuilding teams and this draft, specifically with Brown Jr., could be the Bucks' chance at doing that.

Even if his decision-making can be shaky, as Vecenie said in his draft profile, that's something that head coach Taylor Jenkins can certainly work with and for now at this stage of the Bucks' prospective rebuild, Brown Jr.'s playmaking abilities should be the top priority for the Bucks and can still translate into some on-court success.

The draft is almost here and the Bucks almost certainly aren't done with their scouting of prospective players just yet, but looking at all of the positives that Brown Jr. offers, he seems to be a solution for several of Milwaukee's problems.
