The Milwaukee Bucks could make roster moves before next week's regular-season curtain-raiser.

The Milwaukee Bucks will face the Washington Wizards on the road on Wednesday in their regular-season opener, officially marking the beginning of the post-Giannis Antetokounmpo era.

And though new head coach Taylor Jenkins appears close to nailing down his preferred starting five, his roster could still change before tipoff.

NBA insider Jake Fischer reported Wednesday that after the Los Angeles Clippers waived Cam Christie, Milwaukee, Charlotte, Memphis, and the Lakers are the most relevant back-of-the-roster situations other teams are monitoring.

He added that the Bucks, Lakers, and Grizzlies are all "exploring" trades.

That depends on the Bucks' immediate and long-term vision.

The franchise has had significant roster turnover this offseason, following Antetokounmpo's trade to the Miami Heat in June.  And there may be more coming. If not trades, then cuts, as the Bucks currently have 17 players on standard contracts.

The Bucks, as constructed, are a team filled with interesting and perhaps, in some ways, underrated talent that could immediately make other teams better—even if, together, it doesn't make Milwaukee competitive.

Both things can definitely be true in this scenario.

The Bucks acquired Wisconsin native Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel'el Ware, Kasparas Jakucionis, and trade capital in exchange for Giannis.

Outside of Herro, who also still has something to prove, are any of those players needle movers right now? Not quite. Could some of them be one day? Sure. But does that align with the Bucks' timeline? Only they know.

Trade Candidates

It's hard to imagine anyone on the Bucks' roster as untouchable right now. For the right price, the franchise would likely be happy to move whoever.

But for argument's sake, let's say that, of all the newcomers, Herro isn't going anywhere— especially because of his local ties and the homecoming narrative built around his arrival in Milwaukee. He figures to be a ticket seller for the Bucks this season.

Ryan Rollins is likely also staying put following his breakout campaign last year. Otherwise, it's a free-for-all.

Veteran center Myles Turner has already been linked to trade rumors, though his contract could make him difficult to shift before the season begins. He is entering the second year of the four-year, $108 million deal he signed last summer.

However, he could emerge as a midseason trade candidate should his stock rise.

31-year-old Kyle Kuzma is in the final year of his contract. He is owed $19.4 million, but expiring deals often appeal to contenders looking to add depth.

Guard Caris LeVert, whom the Bucks just traded for in July, will also be a free agent next summer, making him a potential trade target around the league.

By all accounts coming out of Milwaukee, the players and coaching staff alike are excited about the upcoming campaign. To see what they've got. To develop with no pressure of having to contend.

But the NBA's history as a business suggests you should never get too comfortable with those around you while the trade market is in season.
