Whether or not Giannis Antetokounmpo returns to the court for the Milwaukee Bucks this season, it seems as though the hopes of making a run for the playoffs are done. Therefore, the Bucks and their coaching staff shifted the focus to seeing what they have with the players on their roster, and they saw a lot on Tuesday night.

Matching up against the Chicago Bulls, who had their hands in several trades on Tuesday, the Bucks took advantage of that and secured a 131-115 win, highlighted by stellar three-point shooting with a 61% rate from beyond the arc. In addition, several players really stood out, including Ryan Rollins.

Ryan Rollins Continues Most Improved Player Season

Rollins might've played in 56 games last season and had a handful of starts, but not many around the NBA could've expected him to leap like he has this season. Becoming a legit scorer at over 16 points per game and being a playmaker as well, it was on display in their win over the Bulls Tuesday night.

Logging 21 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds, Rollins was praised for his playmaking abilities by head coach Doc Rivers after the game, as Rollins has assumed more of a responsibility with Giannis and Kevin Porter Jr. sidelined.

"He's really growing, man. He made a pass in the first half where he jumped in the air, and pump faked a guy, and then threw it to the corner. A month ago, there's no way he sees it, let alone makes a pass...He's doing some really good stuff. So proud of him," Rivers said.

It was just the second time this season that Rollins had logged double-digit assists, with the first instance being arguably his best performance of the season, having 32 points and 14 assists in an overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

While the future of the team is up in the air with Giannis' trade decision looming, the Bucks know they have a guard for the future with Rollins. The 23-year-old is on a $4 million salary next season and has a player option for $4 million for the 2027-28 season, which he'll likely decline at this rate.

Unless the franchise makes some major moves between now and then, Rollins could look to lead this new era of basketball in Milwaukee alongside whichever pieces come over from an eventual Giannis deal.

Regardless, the rest of the season should be focused on prioritizing the development of Rollins and allowing him to learn through mistakes.
