Milwaukee Bucks To Be Shorthanded vs New Orleans Pelicans cover image

The Milwaukee Bucks are dealing with injuries to several key players ahead of Wednesday night's contest

The Milwaukee Bucks are at the center of the NBA trade rumors, whether that's regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo or the team looking to make additions before Thursday afternoon's deadline. However, as is the case with every team in the league, there's still basketball to be played.

For the Bucks, they'll look to continue building momentum from their 131-115 win over the Chicago Bulls and seek a 3-0 sweep at home, but have to get through the New Orleans Pelicans first before facing the Indiana Pacers. While they may have a slight upper hand, injuries aren't playing in their favor.

Bucks Injury Report

Five players are listed OUT for the Bucks on Wednesday, with those being Alex Antetokounmpo (two-way), Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf), Gary Harris (hamstring), Bobby Portis (hip), and Taurean Prince (neck).

In addition, two players are listed as PROBABLE, with those being Myles Turner (ankle) and Cole Anthony (ankle).

Portis has started in the last three games for Milwaukee, providing value as a scorer and rebounder with Giannis sidelined. Of course, Giannis' contributions are well-known, as his future remains in question, as fans are anxiously waiting to see what happens with him ahead of the deadline.

Even though Turner is listed as PROBABLE, he'll likely still be banged up for the contest if he's good to go. It's been a rocky season for him, but he has played his best basketball as of late, such as his 31-point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers.

On the bright side, Kevin Porter Jr. isn't listed on the injury report, as he'll return to action after missing the past six games.

Pelicans Injury Report

For a team that's been known for battling injuries, it's a rather clean injury report for New Orleans, which has three players listed as OUT in Trey Alexander (two-way), Hunter Dickinson (two-way), and Dejounte Murray (Achilles).

Game Preview

Both of these teams find themselves with uncertain futures, but they also have ties to one another from the Jrue Holiday trade a few years ago. As a result of an additional trade, the Bucks will receive the lesser of New Orleans' or their own first-round pick this season, with both expected to land in the lottery of a loaded 2026 NBA Draft class.

Therefore, any result is a win-win for the Bucks in tonight's contest. Tip-off at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee is set for 8:00 pm. EST. Even though there might be more attention off the court, there should still be excitement from the players on the court.
