The new-look Bucks are ready to get started.
The Milwaukee Bucks' franchise changing trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat is finalized and with it has brought a haul of new players including Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel'el Ware and Kasparas Jakucionis, jumpstarting the Bucks' rebuilding process and bringing in a fresh new core of young stars.
Those new Bucks have landed in Milwaukee and Herro, Ware and Jaquez Jr. all brought recorded a video introducing themselves to Bucks fans and sharing their excitement for what should be a thrilling new era for Bucks basketball.
This new youth movement brings with it an immense level of promise. This new core in Milwaukee is of course mostly the same core that the Heat enjoyed a moderate level of success with for several years and pairing them with players like Ryan Rollins and Myles Turner should be an effective brand of basketball that could make the Bucks contenders again sooner than anyone could have imagined after this season.
Excitement for the Young Bucks
It's especially significant for Herro, the face of the Heat when he first burst onto the scene with his style, swagger and scoring. Herro is a Milwaukee native and coming to the Bucks as this herald of a new era is a full circle moment for the young guard and he now has a chance to return his hometown team to prominence.
For that reason, Herro's excitement is more than understandable. For Jaquez Jr., who received Sixth Man of the Year votes this past season, the Bucks present a new opportunity for him to be not just a Sixth Man, but an impactful starter in his own right, giving him a chancer to show off all of his skills.
Ware too is looking for an opportunity to prove himself even further in his third NBA season and while he'll likely be the backup for Turner for the time being, he's still going to be relied on heavily as a young center that the Bucks can cement their future around.
The Future in Milwaukee
It is truly a new era in Milwaukee and it's a sign of brighter days yet to come. The Milwaukee fan base is a passionate one and they've become accustomed to a certain level of success over the years, the new young Bucks will have some big shoes to fill.
Even with those expectations, this new young core has revived a franchise that looked like it was racing toward the bottom of the league and as their welcome message indicated, there's a lot to be excited about.
