The Milwaukee Bucks have lost four straight games, all by 18+ points.
They currently sit eleventh in the East, but are five games behind the Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets, who occupy the last two Play-In spots.
A 131-113 loss to the Hawks on Wednesday didn't help the Bucks as they need every win they can get over the final month if they hope to make any type of a Play-In push.
The Bucks welcomed back Giannis Antetokounmpo to the lineup on March 2 against the Boston Celtics, but his return did not lead to immediate dividends as they lost the game 108-81.
Speaking to the media after the game, Bucks forward Ousmane Dieng was asked how the team keeps its spirit up amid this losing streak.
"Everybody wants the same things here, trying to make the playoffs or the Play-In. We just have to keep our heads down and keep working," said Dieng.
Dieng was acquired at the trade deadline, switching teams multiple times during the day, but ultimately coming over from the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team he last played a game for.
Dieng has started the last two games, but has had his share of struggles alongside the other Bucks starters, especially on the defensive end.
In 11 games with the Bucks, Dieng is averaging 8.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. He's shooting 38% from three on 4.5 attempts per game.
The Bucks got hot at the start of February, winning eight of ten from February 2 to February 25. They scored victories over the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Miami Heat, and Cleveland Cavaliers during that run.
The additions of Dieng and Cam Thomas seemed to light a spark within the team, and the impending return of Giannis would give them hope.
A 127-98 loss to the New York Knicks began this slide, and they have been unable to record.
Being five games down with 21 games remaining is a lot of ground to make up. They do have one of the easier schedules remaining, ranking 24th in the league. Atlanta has the 18th toughest schedule remaining, while the Hornets have the 12th toughest.
The Bucks have only one game remaining against the Hawks or Hornets, meaning they can't help themselves with a victory over either team.
If the Hawks are going to make a final push, it will need to begin on Saturday when they face the Utah Jazz.
