Taylor Jenkins believes in Milwaukee basketball.

Taylor Jenkins has a tough task ahead of him as he takes the helm of the Milwaukee Bucks and tries to revive the state of the franchise after the worst regular season in a decade.

There are certainly a lot of issues to address and a lot of uncertainty that's abounded in the franchise, such as the question of whether or not Giannis Antetokounmpo will remain with the franchise or how the Bucks will reload their roster to try and sustain long-term success.

The technical side of running the franchise is something that Jenkins will be able to further address as the offseason progress and the Bucks are able to make more moves when it comes to what the roster will actually look like come the start of next season, but for now, Jenkins is focused on what the team will mean for the city.

Restoring Pride

"When you watch the Bucks, you're going to be proud," Jenkins said (via Lily Zhao). "Our team is going to play with pride to represent our city."

The Bucks have a passionate fanbase and that's what made the disappointment of the 2025-26 season so severe after so much success in recent seasons. Milwaukee is a sports town through and through and Jenkins knows that having worked as an assistant coach with the team in the past.

He knows what the energy is like in the city when the Bucks are doing well and he's determined to restore that brand of basketball.

Beyond just the coaching side of things, Jenkins has a hard task of actually ingratiating himself with the city. During his introductory press conference, Jenkins spoke about how important it is to him that he and his family "invest themselves" in the community.

The Responsibility That Jenkins Has

He wants to make it clear to Bucks fans that Milwaukee is his home and that fans will be able to see him "out and about" in the city.

He made it clear that being head coach of the organization isn't just a job to him, but a responsibility. He wants to create a winning team in Milwaukee not just so that the team can succeed, but so that they can represent the city of Milwaukee well and give Bucks fans something to believe in and root for again.

The Bucks have a lot of questions that are definitely still left unanswered, but one thing is clear: everything that's been said so far points to Jenkins being the right man to lead the team.
