The NBA Summer League has drawn to a close and the Milwaukee Bucks got a great look at the plethora of young talent that they've stacked their team with throughout a productive offseason. 

While there several impressive performances that the Bucks should pay attention to when it comes to their roster construction, three players, arguably the Bucks' three most-important young players, were particularly impressive and give an optimistic look at what could be a brighter future for Milwaukee basketball. 

Brayden Burries was the Bucks' leading scorer during Summer League, averaging 27.1 points while shooting 50% from the field and 36.4% from three point range while adding 4.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. 

That's an outstanding stat line for any player to post, especially someone that has the expectations and responsibilities placed on them like Burries does.

He was trusted to be the offensive engine of the summer Bucks and the 10th-overall pick delivered, showing every bit of the physical and fast-paced guard that the Bucks were expecting when they drafted him. 

Like his fellow draftee Burries, Nate Ament has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders for the rebuilding Bucks, especially filling in at the position that for so long was filled in Milwaukee by Giannis Antetokounmpo, but Ament handed himself nicely in his first opportunity to show the Bucks what he can do. 

In five games, Ament averaged 11.2 points, second-most on the team behind a wide margin created by Burries, while also shooting 50% from the field. 

Ament was also a crucial presence defensively and added 4.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.4 blocks per game. Ament is still coming into his own, but the way that he was able to apply his physicality within the paint is a great sign for the kind of player that he can become. 

With more time and experience against NBA-level players, Ament will surely grow used to the physical battle his position demands he face and with the sample he's shown in Summer League, Ament's ceiling is high. 

Bogoljub Markovic was the Bucks' second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, but stayed overseas to play one more season in the ABA after the 2025 Summer League, where he won ABA MVP. 

After signing a multi-year contract with the Bucks this offseason, Markovic returned to Summer League and showed exactly why the Bucks put their faith in him. 

Markovic wasn't as much of a factor on the offensive end, averaging just 8.8 points, but his true value is in his skill as a rim protector. 

He averaged 5.8 rebounds, second-most on the roster, along with 1.0 blocks per game and he distinguished himself as a brawler on the court with his defense that can be a huge deterrent to any kind of plays that opposing teams want to try and make in the paint. 

If Markovic keeps that up, the Bucks defense will get a huge upgrade in the regular season that will definitely be appreciated.
